Stop rubbing your eyes. It is real. I'm posting again! I'm sorry I couldn't post anything any earlier. I had some problems with my computer, the holidays, exams... But... good news! I'm back!
I'm actually been feeling a lot in a blogging mood lately. I'm going on a little trip on Wednesday, so I was going to wait to come back to write my "I'm back!" post about it, but... I couldn't wait any longer!
Today I woke up to find out everything covered in snow, and decided to go ice-skating. All morning I've been having thoughts that I would have tweeted, but then I thought... why not put them all together in a blog post?
I love ice-skating. I'm not very good at it, but I really enjoy it: the smell of the rink, the cold, sliding on the ice... It's a feeling you can't express with words.
Since I came back to Belgium after Christmas, I've been ice-skating quite a lot, because it makes me feel a lot better and I've been actually needing it. I'm really proud of myself for how motivated I've kept myself. It's very hard because the opening hours are terrible, so going makes waking up very early, and my bed is just so comfy. And also because I'm alone in the ice so I tend to get bored, and I have nobody to help me so I'm barely improving at all.
One thing I realised today is snowy days are made for ice-skating. They make such a great combination, which would be completely perfect followed by a warm coffee from Starbucks. But seeing the snow and ice-skating also gives you a pretty amazing feeling.
Another thing I love about iceskating is that it gives you a lot of lessons about life. For example, it's ok to fall. It will happen. Sometimes even when you're not doing anything complicated so you don't expect to fall. And some times will hurt more than others. But there's not a single time you won't be able to stand back up, or a pain that will last forever.
To keep me motivated, I created a board on Pinterest with ice-skating photos that make me want to skate, and today I wanted to share them with you:
